Information we collect

We collect information you give us, information from your home inspection, and information generated as you use EverHome. In the last 12 months, we collected the following categories (lettered as in the California Consumer Privacy Act):

• Identifiers (A, B): name, email, phone, mailing address, and account details. Source: you.
• Property information (D, H): your address, inspection findings and photos, systems and appliance data, and property records from our data provider. Sources: you, your home inspector, and our data provider.
• Service requests (D): quotes, bookings, and connections you initiate with partners. Sources: you and partners.
• Usage and device data (F, G): pages viewed, actions taken, IP address, approximate location, and cookies or similar technologies. Source: your device.
• Inferences (K): services you may be interested in, drawn from the information above.
• Sensitive information (L): your account login and password, used only to secure your account.
• Reports (M): Any inspection reports or similar reports uploaded to EverHome by the user.

We do not collect precise geolocation, biometric, or health information, and we do not sell or share that type of sensitive information.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate EverHome and to connect you with relevant services.

• Provide the platform and your home dashboard.
• Match you with lenders, insurers, warranty providers, and contractors when you ask.
• Generate illustrative estimates from your property data.
• Communicate with you about your account and requests.
• Improve, secure, and analyze the service, prevent fraud, and comply with law.
• Show you targeted advertising.

We do not use personal information such as names, identifying information, or contact details to train artificial intelligence models. We may use information such as inspection findings, systems data, and property records to build and improve our artificial intelligence features and internal search functions. We may also sell or license deidentified information, such as aggregated home-condition and property data, that cannot reasonably be linked to you or your household. We keep deidentified information in that form, do not try to reidentify it, and contractually prohibit anyone who receives it from reidentifying it.

How we share your information

This is the part homeowners most want to understand. When you request a quote, booking, or connection, we show you the partners who will receive it and share the information needed to fulfill that request with the partners you select, who then contact you or prepare an offer. Our contracts limit partners to using your information to respond to your request, require them to honor your privacy rights, and prohibit them from reselling it.

We share your contact and request information with a partner only when you ask us to connect you with that partner and consent to the sharing. Partners pay us for these connections, as described in How we make money, so we treat these disclosures as a “sale” under state privacy laws. We also share information with service providers who operate our platform on our behalf, with advertising partners, as required by law or to protect rights and safety, and in a merger, financing, or sale of our business. In the last 12 months, we sold identifiers, property information, service requests, and inferences to lenders, insurers, warranty providers, and home service contractors, and we shared identifiers and usage data with advertising partners. If you opt out, or ask us to delete or correct your information, we will pass your request to the partners and other third parties who received it, as required by law. If you opt out, we will still send a specific request to the partners you select when you ask us to.

Cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. We treat Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out of sale and sharing. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.

The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Your Privacy Choices

EverHome sells personal information to partners when you ask us to connect you with them, and shares information with advertising partners for targeted advertising. You can opt out of both at any time.

Opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information: email [email protected] with the subject line “Opt out.”

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out for that browser and, if you are signed in, for your account.

Opting out will not affect the price or quality of our service. If you opt out, we will still send a request to a partner when you specifically ask us to.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. These rights are provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and under comparable laws in states including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others.

• Right to know and access the personal information we hold, including the third parties we disclosed it to.
• Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
• Right to delete personal information, subject to exceptions.
• Right to receive a portable copy of your personal information.
• Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, of targeted advertising, and of profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects.
• Right to limit, or withdraw consent for, the use of sensitive information.
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
• Right to appeal our decision on your request.

To opt out, click “Your Privacy Choices” in the website footer or turn on GPC. For other requests, email [email protected]. Requests other than opt-outs require verification, which we do by matching information in your account. You may use an authorized agent with your written permission. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, extendable once by 45 days with notice. To appeal a denial, reply to our decision. If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state Attorney General.

California residents may also request, once a year, a list of personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing. Nevada residents may request that we not sell their covered information. We do not offer financial incentives for personal information.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, then delete or deidentify it:

• Account, contact, property, and service request information, and inferences: for the life of your account plus 24 months.
• Account login credentials: until you close your account.
• Usage and device data: up to 13 months from collection.

We may keep information longer when needed to resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or enforce our agreements. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so as described in your privacy rights.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

EverHome is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect, sell, or share their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, and we review it at least annually. We will post the new effective date and, where required, notify you. We will notify you before material changes take effect.
