How we make money
Effective October 1, 2026
EverHome is free for homeowners. When you ask us to connect you with a partner, that partner pays us a fee for the introduction, when you make a purchase, or both. Here is how that works, and how it does not affect what we show you.
The short version
- EverHome is free to use. You never pay us to see estimates or matches.
- Partners pay us when we connect you with them, when you make a purchase, or both.
- Estimates are illustrative. They are not offers of credit or insurance.
- The amount a partner pays does not determine which partners we show you or the order in which they appear, and it is not the basis for any recommendation we make to you.
Our role: what EverHome is, and is not
EverHome is a referral source. We help you understand your home and introduce you to partners that are licensed where required. We do not provide the mortgage, insurance, warranty, or contracting services you obtain from partners.
- We do not originate, offer, or negotiate mortgage loans, and we are not a mortgage lender, broker, or loan originator.
- We do not sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance, we do not discuss specific policy terms, and we are not a licensed insurance producer.
- Any lending, insurance, warranty, or contracting service is provided by the partner under its own license and terms.
How referral fees work, by partner type
We work with four categories of partners. For each, here is what prompts the referral fee and how we are paid. Specific arrangements vary by partner and by state.
Lenders
Mortgage and refinance partners who can offer financing when you ask us to connect you.
How we are paid: Depending on the partner, we are paid a flat referral fee for the introduction (whether or not you buy anything), an amount that varies by partner when you buy from or sign an agreement with that partner, or both
What triggers the fee: You request rates or ask to be connected to a lender.
Insurers
Homeowners, flood, and related insurance carriers and agencies.

Warranty providers
Home warranty and systems/appliance protection plans.

Contractors & service providers
Local pros for repairs, maintenance, and improvement projects.

What triggers the fee: You request a bid, book a service, connect with a pro, or make a purchase.
Does compensation affect what we recommend?
No. The partners and categories we present are selected for relevance to your home and your inspection results, not for how much they pay us. Where we describe an option as recommended, that recommendation is based on your property data and a transparent calculation, which we show you. We disclose our financial relationship at the point of action, not only here.
You are always free to shop elsewhere. Using EverHome to compare does not obligate you to proceed with any partner.
What an illustrative estimate means
Estimates shown in EverHome, such as rebuild cost, potential savings, or monthly payment, are modeled from public and third-party data, including your Property Detail record. They are for comparison only. Actual offers depend on underwriting, credit, property condition, and other factors, and can only come from the partner directly.
